Bus stop shows the best face of Chapel Hill

On August 12th early bus riders (I was one of them) at the Eastgate Mall Bus Stop in Chapel Hill, North Carolina were pleasantly surprised.
Somebody left a basket with magazines and a few art work pieces. The basket was decorated with a few artificial flowers; a note attached to it was addressed to all users of the bus stop mentioning that the reading material was meant as a bus stop amenity.
I do thank the person or persons that thought about us. I feel that the idea could be conceptualized and incorporated at bus stops around town.

  2. What a wonderful idea! Thanks for the photos, as well. Beautiful thought from an anonymous angel.

  4. EPILOGUE
After 48h the basket was gone but the idea was left behind.
I hope that this concept will take root and grow.
I hope that the Town of Chapel Hill will incorporate permanent book baskets at their new bus stop shelters and other towns will follow this lead.
